Video Storyboard

I am posting a very rough storyboard for my project, Games in Distance Education. Any and all feedback found be greatly appreciated as I continue to work through this project.

  1. Suzanne,
I felt very overwhelmed and confused by your storyboard. I say this in the most constructive way possible. I think perhaps there is too much information on each slide. Once the video is rolling it might not overwhelm me... Then again, I imagine you have to be very detailed with a proper storyboard.

  2. Hi Suzanne,

I must agree with Tif. Of course, one of the learning objectives of this course is to become familiar with processes that are totally new to some of you. It is tempting to use PowerPoint as a way of communicating the ideas that you are presenting your video. However, keep in mind that textbased slides that might be excellent in PowerPoint are typically not used in a video. A video typically plays to an audience as a stand alone element, whereas PowerPoint is typically support for a live presenter. Try to limit the text in any given shot to 8 or 10 words at most. Also, try to avoid static slides. It is required that you use some original video. Your storyboard is a useful tool for planning the elements that you'll need to shoot. It also gives you a planning tool to determine photographs or other visuals that you'll need to support your topic. It might help to start with a narration script then figure out what visuals you need to support this narration. I hope this helps!

  3. Thanks for the input. I was trying to cover all that was requested in the assignments and see how it can be a little much. In the beginning I was struggling with this assignment however I think I am starting to get the feel for what I need to do.
